Our Study Abroad program is a wonderful opportunity for high school students to study in a NSW government school, stay with a family in a ‘homestay’ and experience a unique Australian lifestyle. You can choose a school in a coastal, rural or urban setting and study from 3 months to 1 year.

To apply for AIE's Study Abroad program, ensure you meet the following criteria:

  • Age Requirement
Be under 18 years old at the time of enrolment.
  • Academic Standing
Maintain good passing grades in main academic subjects.
  • English Proficiency
Meet the required English language proficiency standards.
  • Genuine Student Requirement
Demonstrate a genuine intention to study in Australia, as per the Department of Home Affairs' guidelines.
Select a NSW government school that aligns with your academic interests and preferred location. Options include coastal, rural, or urban settings. You can study for a duration ranging from 3 months to 1 year.
Complete the online application form, ensuring all required documents are attached, including:

  • Certified copies of your passport or birth certificate
  • Academic transcripts for the last two years
  • Proof of English language proficiency
  • Welfare and accommodation arrangements

Applications are encouraged to be submitted through an education agent registered with AIE, who can assist with the application and visa process.
If your application is successful, AIE will issue a Letter of Offer, detailing:

  • The school you've been accepted into
  • Course dates and duration
  • Total course fees
  • Conditions of the offer
  • Expiry date for the offer

You'll also receive an invoice for the first installment payment, which may include fees for tuition, homestay placement, airport transfer, and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).
Upon accepting the offer and making the required payment, AIE will issue a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) and, if applicable, a Confirmation of Appropriate Accommodation and Welfare (CAAW). Use these documents to apply for your student visa through the Department of Home Affairs.
Once your visa is granted and travel arrangements are made, AIE will provide you with homestay details and other essential information to help you prepare for your study abroad experience.
Upon arrival in Australia, attend AIE's orientation program to help you settle in, understand the local culture, and prepare for your studies. You'll then commence your educational journey at your chosen NSW government school.

Our Study Tours program offers groups of overseas students and adults a unique educational experience that includes visiting schools, participating in classes, school activities and special events conducted in the school or local community.

There are two different types of Study Tours – Student Groups and Adult Groups and each tour can be tailored to the interests and needs of each group.

Begin by defining the objectives and preferences for your study tour. Consider the following: - Group Type: Decide if the tour is for students (aged 10 and above) or adults (educators, principals, etc.) - Duration: Choose the length of the tour, ranging from half a day to ten weeks - Location: Select preferred locations in Sydney or regional NSW - Activities: Determine the types of experiences desired, such as classroom participation, cultural excursions, or professional development

Note: A minimum of 12 weeks’ notice is required, excluding school holidays, especially for homestay programs.
All study tour applications must be submitted through a tour operator registered with AIE. Tour operators or study tour groups should not contact schools directly to arrange bookings or discuss programs.
Once your application is received, AIE will work with you to design a personalized itinerary that suits your group’s interests.
This includes selecting schools, planning excursions, and arranging accommodations. A detailed quote will be provided for your review and approval.
After reviewing the itinerary and quote, confirm your participation by signing the agreement and making the required payments.
AIE will then finalize school visits, accommodations, and all planned activities.
Leading up to the tour, AIE will provide detailed information to help ensure a smooth experience.
This includes school visit schedules, accommodation details, activity plans, and other essential guidance.
Join the tour and fully engage in the educational journey.
Take part in activities, interact with Australian students and educators, and experience Australian education and culture firsthand.
After the tour concludes, AIE welcomes your feedback to help improve future study tour experiences.
Your insights and reflections are greatly valued.
